My work is a metaphor of fragility, reflecting about subtle things and the importance of what is small, delicate, and many times imperceptible based in my personal experiences when in the presence of nature or about human relationships. I express experiences that are not individual, but universal and, therefore, common to all of us.
I render this thoughts on my work on paper, sewing all the information together taking advantage of the fragility of the media, subtly working its surface, suggesting a feeling of stillness and overwhelming, not only in the form of prints, but also in paintings and drawings, personal interventions as installations.
Gloria Ceballos (1973) lives and works in London. BA (Honors), Camberwell College of Arts, London, BA (Hons) Interior Design, IADE, Madrid. Scholarships at Uttarayan Art Foundation (India),Fundación Pilar i Joan Miró, Mallorca and Alfarastudio, Salamanca. First prize award in painting “Arte joven Latina” , Ayuntamiento de Madrid. Shortlisted Calcografía Nacional, Casa de la Moneda,Carmen Arozena, Máximo Ramos and San Lorenzo del Escorial. Member of Loopartists., printmakers international group. Solo shows at Galería José Robles, Showroom Brita Prinz, Obra Social Caja de Ávila, Red de Arte joven, CAM. Group shows internationally in Australia, India, Japan, UK, France and Spain. Fairs: Estampa, Arts in education, London; D-Fest, Matadero, Madrid; Valencia Art, Puroarte Vigo, Islington Art Fair, London .Teaching international experience ( UFV, Madrid, Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Milan, Italy and The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda,India.
